Why I Model
It can be difficult to achieve true self-acceptance of our individual bodies. Regardless of our gender associations, we all tend to compare ourselves to one other, as well as to our former selves.
My goal is to represent all women in every medium, and especially on film. I seek acceptance of myself on a deeper level, so I might be seen as one others look to, in their moments of insecurity. I aim to honor my natural shape (regardless of the passage of time, or how it changes me) with vibrancy of health as my sole priority.

After having my second child, I remain full-figured, curvy, soft, plush, voluptuous... bigger. It has been a struggle to accept myself in this fuller state. When I look in the mirror, I still see the same person I've been all along: My internal qualities of compassion, growth, and kindness.
Now that I've been a model for over six years, I find it harder to look at these photographs. I tear myself apart, and criticize the image I see before me. I inform myself "this is not how you should appear".

I have a voice, and I speak it here.
Love yourself exactly as you are now!
Through this self-imposed veil of hatred and deceit, you must learn to say "I love you, body! You got me here, to this point. You allow me to feel love and to warm myself in patches of sunshine. With you, I may run through fields of lavender, sit in pools of cool water, and touch the firmament of the earth!"

Be good to yourself, in all stages of life.
It is hard, I know.
Look upon your reflection and say to yourself, "You don't deserve self-hatred! You deserve only kindness, my Inner Me."
This is why I model. So the lens might capture and crystallize the stirrings of that inner light... and help spread light to others.
